We’ve all been in that situation where we have a week before a big event and our skin doesn’t look the best. Trying to find ways to make your skin look better at the last minute before an event is a nightmare. But don’t fear, there are multiple ways to make your skin look better in 7 days and see great results. And, they don’t require too much money or effort! Read on for our seven ways to better skin.

1) Get into a routine

One of the simplest ways to make your skin look better is to establish a skincare routine. A lot of us lead busy lives, which means our skin’s welfare is put to one side. While you won’t see astounding results in 7 days, you will see a bit of a difference. Cleanse and moisturise twice a day, and consider using a gentle exfoliator once a day.

2) H20

I know I am certainly guilty of not drinking enough water and I bet a lot of you are the same. I spend a lot of time drinking coffee and other diuretics, but not enough drinking water. Challenge yourself and stick to drinking only water for a week, you’ll feel the benefits very quickly and look less puffy.

3) Less makeup

Makeup clogs your pores, which leads to spots. Removing it puts your skin under stress. Try to stick to mascara only for a few days and give your skin a rest.

4) Add oily fish to your diet

Your skin cells proliferate faster than most of your body’s other cells. All cells have a membrane that requires fat, but not just any old fats will do. Add three portions of oily fish, such as sardines or mackerel to your diet over the next seven days. Alternatively, increase your olive oil intake. It’ll support your skin’s repair processes and reduce inflammation. This, in turn, will balance your overall skin tone.

5) Detox

When I say detox, I don’t mean ditching food and living off juice for a week. What I mean is cutting out the junk. That’s it, no magic cures. Get rid of processed sugars, bad fats, alcohol, and cigarettes. Eat healthily, get as much Vitamin C as you can, as well as zinc. By the end of the week, your skin will look fresher.

6) Dose up on the zzz’s

Your body repairs more at night than at any other time. Take a look at your schedule over the next seven days and knock an hour off each day. This is possible for most of us, as we spend time doing activities that aren’t always essential. Watching TV, for example. With a good night’s sleep, you will also feel happier.

7) Get a facial

Finally, the day before your big event, get a facial. This is going to give your face a glow that is undeniably beautiful. There are plenty of ways for you to do a DIY facial at home if you are on a budget. However, if you can afford it, go out and get one done professionally. Not only will it look great, but it will also leave you feeling relaxed and confident.
