A safe, controlled salon treatment that results in great looking skin

How does microdermabrasion work? SkinBase Microdermabrasion is a progressive rather than aggressive treatment. You’ll feel completely relaxed and pampered with no discomfort from the process. Over the course of your treatments, a wand delivers a fine jet of abrasive crystals over the skin. The crystals abrade away dead skin cells and dirt from the surface of the skin. A vacuum action removes the debris.

So – how does microdermabrasion work? This dual action both resurfaces the skin and stimulates blood flow, encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself. Collagen and elastin production is also stimulated during treatment. With each of your subsequent treatments, the intensity can be increased. Therefore, reaching to deeper layers and successfully clearing pores, removing acne scarring, lifting pigmentation and smoothing lines and wrinkles.

1. Client Consultation

consultation

Your SkinBase™ therapist will carry out a thorough consultation to devise a treatment plan for your skin concerns (Don’t forget to ask them about our Transformation of the year competition!). A typical course of treatments is 6-8 treatments. For more problematic skin, your therapist may recommend a course of up to 20 treatments every 7 to 10 days.

2. Cleanse

cleanse

A gel cleanser is used to ensure your skin is prepped for treatment. For male clients, ideally your face should be clean shaved the night before a morning treatment or in the morning for an afternoon treatment (but this is not essential). Dry, shaven and clean skin means that the abrasive compound can penetrate the skin unobstructed.

3. Microdermabrasion, Treat and Target

Microdermabrasion treatment

A wand delivering a fine jet of abrasive crystals will be passed over the skin. Dead skin particles will be abraded away and a vacuum action will remove the debris. This dual action will both resurface the skin and stimulate the blood flow, encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself and produce collagen and elastin. After passing across the skin area once, the therapist will then target problem areas like open pores, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and acne scarring.

4. Moisturise with SPF

moisturise

After the treatment SkinBase hydration max will be applied to replenish and restore moisture.

Sun damage can cause pigmentation and premature ageing of the skin. After a SkinBase facial, SkinBase Daily protect spf, a wide spectrum UVA and UVB sun protection with superior antioxidant protection will be applied to protect the skin.
