Healthy Greens
Foods to improve cellulite – think avocado, spinach and kale. Leafy greens such as spinach and healthy fats like avocado are two cellulite fighting greens. Spinach contains magnesium which helps digestive health. This helps your metabolism to stay on top of burning fat to prevent cellulite. Avocados are high in healthy fats and fibre and keep you feeling fuller for longer. They also contain glutathione, which helps your liver to remove toxins. Toxins are thought to be a prime cause of cellulite.
Chillies
Chillies are a powerful, cellulite banishing ingredient – and it is all thanks to capsaicin. Capsaicin triggers your body’s metabolism and clears inflammation within the gastrointestinal tract. Found in the interior walls of the chilli, this helps your body to absorb nutrients.
Cellulite Fighting Tea
Chamomile & Matcha tea for the win. Swap your morning coffee for a refreshing matcha or chamomile tea. Matcha contains catechins, which have cellulite reducing and fat smoothing benefits. Chamomile can help to ease stress and make you feel more relaxed, which is key if you are trying to get rid of cellulite. Increased levels of stress hormones can increase the appearance of cellulite.
Oily Fish
Salmon & tuna are foods to improve cellulite. Omega-3 fats are essential in the fight against cellulite. Oily fish like salmon and tuna are a rich source of omega-3. These healthy fats improve the stability of your body’s cell membranes. This is key in preventing the dimpled skin.
Flaxseeds
If you don’t fancy fish, flaxseeds are an excellent source of omega-3, and a great option for vegetarians. Flaxseeds are also good if you want to improve cellulite because they have a positive effect on oestrogen levels. Some studies suggest there is a link between oestrogen levels and the development of cellulite.
Vitamin C Boost
Bell Peppers, oranges, lemons & grapefruit. Bell peppers have the most vitamin C of any vegetable. Oranges, lemons and grapefruit all have antioxidant properties and are rich in vitamin C. Another boosting vegetable, broccoli contains high levels of vitamin C and is rich in beneficial nutrients. One of the plant nutrients (indole-3-carbinol) helps with hormone balancing by flushing out oestrogen by-products. Vitamin C is an excellent cellulite buster as it boosts collagen production, and in turn, increased collagen levels help to firm the skin.
If you want to bust your cellulite start with your diet. You should also consider dry body-brushing (remember to brush upwards) and combine diet with exercises like squats.
