The Top 3 Skin Sins

Yes, some are worse than others, and we’re all guilty of these at some point. The trouble is they can make a big difference to the condition of your skin.

Sin #1 – Not Drinking Enough Water

Water is the elixir of youth. If you don’t drink enough your skin dehydrates. Dehydrated skin becomes sallow, your natural elasticity diminishes and your skin can become flaky, dry and lined.

Water helps to flush the toxins out of your body. This prevents the build-up of bacteria that causes acne break-outs.

Try to drink between a litre and a litre and a half of liquid each day. It can be water or even tea or coffee, as long as you are careful with your caffeine intake.

Sin #2 Not Removing Make-Up

It’s so tempting when you’re really tired just to crawl into bed without removing your make-up. Once in a blue moon might not have too much of an effect, but if you do it regularly your skin won’t thank you.

The dead skin cells which will be left on your skin will start to block your pores. This can lead to spots or acne. Skin conditions like rosacea may get worse. Over time your skin will also become dull and fine lines will appear.

Sin #3 Not Getting Enough Sleep

The most obvious sign of lack of sleep is dark circles under your eyes. But, not getting a good night’s sleep also means that your body loses the chance to work at nourishing your body and getting rid of toxins properly. This means you could end up with sagging pale skin instead of having a plumped-up glow.
