A perfect skin tone is often one of the most lusted after beauty traits and something we are asked about a lot here at SkinBase. The ‘picture perfect’ look can often feel an impossible task and if you’re like me, then you’ve tried everything to make your skin appear more even, including using every makeup trick in the book. Here are some tried and tested tips which are sure to help if an even skin tone is something you are trying to achieve.
Prep with primer for skin perfection
Primer is a much-needed makeup product when it comes to creating an even skin tone and one that I would definitely recommend you all try, as believe me it will make a big difference! Priming your skin is the best way to make sure that your makeup looks beautiful and stays put! I always start with eye primer and then go with a full face primer.
The right foundation works wonders
After primer, foundation is the most important thing to help create a completely even skin tone. For the best and most natural appearance, you should aim to use a foundation colour that is the exact same shade as your skin, that way your skin will look all smooth and natural. It never looks great when your face is a different colour from your chest, does it girls?
Conceal to reveal an even skin tone
Concealer is a wonder product, especially for areas of skin that are particularly patchy, uneven or have imperfections. Dab concealer gently onto the affected area and blend everything together.
Set with powder
Whenever you are dealing with foundation and concealer, it is always best to set them with powder. Whether you are choosing pressed or loose, that’s completely your choice, but it is best you use it as it will help to keep your makeup in place and also prevent that dreaded shine!
Highlight to make skin bright and beautiful
When you have an uneven skin tone, it might feel hard to draw attention to anything else – unless you highlight! Using a bit of highlighting along your cheekbones can really brighten up your entire face. It will also allow your skin to look even and beautiful!
Contouring isn’t just a passing fad
Contouring is one of the best ways to hide your uneven skin tones and even buff them out using good make up techniques! Using a bit of bronzer and a bit of blush can make all of the difference in the world and breathe life into tired and dull skin on days when we are not feeling our best. I usually find that using a little bronzer along my cheekbones and blush along the apples of my cheeks results in a radiant and fresh faced look and really helps to create a more even appearance.
Microdermabrasion
The SkinBase Facial™ is a tried and tested treatment for uneven skin tone, brown spots and blotchy skin.
Because most uneven skin tones are superficial, microdermabrasion is usually the first treatment option people go for. The SkinBase Facial™ uses fine crystals which are gently blasted across the uneven skin tone using a small jet. This directly affects the outer layer of skin causing it to break away, aiding in lightening or removing unwanted pigments and revealing the gorgeous even skin tone beneath.
