Potato hand mask

Potatoes make for a great anti-ageing, whitening, tightening and brightening skin treatment. If you have ageing hands or just want to even out your skin tone, this potato mask will make an excellent treatment! All you need are potatoes and milk and you’re ready to get cooking!

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 potatoes
  • Milk

Directions:

Who says, mashed potatoes are only good for eating? First peel and boil 2-3 potatoes, drain and mash with milk to form a paste. Allow to cool a little and then apply the warm mixture to your hands (You might want to pop a pair of plastic/disposable gloves on) and leave them on until they cool. Wash them off and apply your favorite hand cream or lotion.

Spicy foot mask!

If your feet are always cold (yes even in this weather) then this is for you! This foot mask will hydrate, soothe and warm your feet using a combination of oats, honey and olive oil. Perfect to get those feet in order until you can get your pedicure booked! Oh how we miss our beauty therapist! Please let us back soon (if you’re over 6 foot social distancing for pedicures is covered!)

Ingredients:

  • 100g whole oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  •
4 drops sweet orange essential oil

Directions:

First, use a blender to grind the oats to a fine powder (cheap oats are usually pretty bitty to start with). Pop these in a large bowl (one you can fit your foot in – wash bowl is perfect) and add the remaining ingredients stirring into a thick paste.

Soak a couple of flannels or small hand towels in hot but not boiling water. Wring out the excess water and put these to one side.

Now place each foot in the bowl with your paste and use your hands to spread a layer of the mask over each foot up. Wrap each foot in your warm flannels to seal in the moisture. Sit back and relax for 15 minutes. Then rinse your feet thoroughly using warm water and pat dry with a towel.
