We all know how hard it can be to stay focused. Many of us struggle to stay sane juggling professional and personal duties. To stay ahead of the game, you need to learn some healthy habits to increase your productivity.
5 Habits to Increase Your Productivity
1. Write a To Do List
Every evening plan a to do list for the next day. This will stop the tossing and turning about tomorrow’s crazy workload. Prioritise the list by making a note of the bigger tasks and those that need less effort. Make sure the list is realistic. Don’t set unattainable goals. Create a schedule of when all tasks will be done. Then you can be super productive as soon as you wake up.
2. Delegate
A good leader is able to delegate tasks when appropriate. Make the most of your salon team. Don’t think you have to do everything yourself. If there’s someone better suited to a job delegate it. This will free you up and help you stay focused on the bigger picture, to increase your productivity for the day. Giving everyone realistic tasks and goals will increase staff morale too.
3. Take Breaks
Though it sounds counterproductive, breaks can help increase your productivity. You’re going to take pauses throughout the day anyway. Schedule them in when you need an energy boost. Your overall day will be more productive. Try to disconnect from work at the end of the day. Your time outside work contributes to your time at work – so give yourself a break!
4. Don’t Multitask
Multitasking slows you down. You might think you are getting more done but the most productive people spend several hours on a single task. Go through your list one by one. The best way to ruin productivity is to start multiple tasks at once. Go through them one at a time and see them through until the end. Then you will produce the best possible result for each task.
5. Remove Distractions
Productive people shut down distractions. Do you ever feel the need to put up a Do Not Disturb sign? Close your inbox and put your phone out of sight. Create space for focused productivity everyday by removing any unnecessary distractions. You will be amazed by how much more you get done.
Get into the habit of doing all these things daily. You will create a healthy work environment in your salon that allows an increase in focused productivity.
