We’ve all heard the expression ‘Love the skin you’re in” and while we’re fully on board with the sentiment, we know it’s not always the easiest thing to do. It’s only natural to want to do something about this, especially when we’re faced with perfection everywhere we look. Here are a few of our best tips to help your skin look great by caring for it, and yourself:

Good Skincare

One of the first steps towards learning to love your skin is learning to look after it. A good cleanser, a hydrating moisturiser and an SPF are the essentials. After you’ve found ones which work for you, then you can start looking into more complex skincare products like toners, essences, serums and masks, but make sure you have the basics perfected first.

Eat Well

What you eat has a big impact on your skin; just like your diet affects all the other organs in your body. Getting plenty of antioxidants, lean protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals whilst avoiding overly fatty, artificial and processed foods, will help you to keep your skin looking gorgeous.

Drink Water

A well-hydrated body means well-hydrated skin – and dehydrated skin can cause all manner of skin concerns. Dullness, fine lines, dryness, it can even lead to spots as your skin tries to make up for the lack of water by producing more oil. Aim for two litres a day.

Exfoliate

Exfoliation removes layers of dead skin and impurities for a radiant, clear and smooth complexion. Choosing a professional treatment like SkinBase Microdermabrasion will deeply exfoliate the skin to speed up cell renewal and even stimulate collagen production, for younger, fresher looking skin too.
