Quitting smoking

Cigarette smoking is highly linked to causing adult acne in women. If you smoke and walk around with a broken out face, it may be time to consider quitting. Quitting smoking can not only improve your skin it will also improve your health and odds against cancer.

Food allergies

Some breakouts are the result of food allergies. If you think this may be the case for you, keep a food journal. Document what you eat and the condition of your skin. Try going a couple of weeks without foods you think maybe a trigger to your acne and look for improvements.

Product ingredients

Your skin may be sensitive to some of the ingredients in your makeup and skincare products. If you have added something new to your routine and noticed a difference in your skin, the new product may be the cause of your breakouts.

No touching

Keep your hands off of your face. Your hands touch everything, and pull in dirt and oil. When you touch your face you are putting that dirt and oil on your skin and causing it to get into your pores clogging them up.

Tea tree oil

Dabbing a small amount onto blemishes you can help breakdown the bacteria that causes breakouts and speed up the healing process without removing the skin’s natural moisture.

Drink more water

If you aren’t drinking at least 8 full glasses of water each day, it is time to start. I’m sure you already know how important water is to your body. It is also important for your skin. It helps keep the body and skin hydrated. Don’t underestimate how much difference this one simple change can make to your skin.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion treatments have gradually become the first choice for many people who are searching for an acne solution that helps correct acne scarring. Surveys suggest that 95% of adolescents and adults suffer with acne scarring problems, so you should know that you’re not alone in your quest to find a cure.

Scarring caused by acne looks very different from any other scars – it’s the deficit of collagen in the specific region that gives rise to acne scarring. After the acne has subsided, the affected skin region needs collagen to heal and if the skin underlying the subsided acne doesn’t have it, then it tends to get scarred during the healing process thereby giving rise to an ice pick scar.

The SkinBase Facial™ is a perfect acne treatment for helping to rid yourself of acne scarring because it encourages collagen to form. In fact, the effects of this acne treatment can often be noticed after just one treatment. If the acne scarring is deep, you may require a larger number of treatments. Your SkinBase therapist will advise you on this at the consultation stage.

Take a look at our videos to see for yourself the positive effects The SkinBase Facial™ has on acne scarring – leading to acne cures unlike any other.
