How Often Should I Have a Microdermabrasion Treatment

How Often Do I Need a Microdermabrasion Treatment?

It’s a difficult question and it all depends on what you are trying to achieve from your treatments. Let’s have a look at the options and what you can achieve.

Express Facial

This is the standard 30 minute ‘lunchtime facial’. Ideal if you want a quick fix before an upcoming event or to give your skin a quick refresh with minimal effort. An express facial will give an all-over exfoliation resulting in a clean and bright complexion. You’ll see and feel a difference but it will leave you wanting more!

Facial Course

Microdermabrasion is progressive, this means with each treatment you will see improvements. A course of facials makes the most sense and will help with issues such as blocked pores, blackheads, fine lines, uneven skin tone, and more.

If your skin is in good overall shape, a mini-course will help you sort out those niggly little issues. Skin will feel clean, smooth and soft. Pores will be clear and it will help to get rid of blackheads. It will improve the texture and appearance of your skin too, it will look more even-toned.

A course of facials for skin concerns.

For sun-damaged skin, a course of 6-8 is recommended. Treatments should be every 7-10 days to allow your therapist to reach deeper in the skin layers with each treatment. If you are suffering from acne or acne scarring issues you may need a longer course of facials to see the best results. Similarly for pigmentation, the pigment can be sat at varying depths within the skin’s epidermal layers. Whilst you continue to see results, keep to consistent weekly treatments – up to a maximum of 20 in a course.

Monthly Maintenance

Maintain your results after completing a course with a monthly treatment. Skin renews itself roughly every 4 weeks so we recommend a treatment then to maintain your glowing complexion. Enjoy!
