Your SkinBase skincare routine

Having clear skin can make a world of difference to our confidence and caring for it is actually simpler than you might think. In this blog, we will explore the importance of establishing a daily beauty routine to help keep skin clean, protected and looking its best at all times.

Step 1 – Cleanse

First and foremost, the single most important thing you can do for your skin when it comes to establishing a beauty routine is to cleanse it properly. Poor cleansing can lead to the build up of excess oils, makeup and dead skin cells which can clog pores, causing blackheads, pimples and a dull looking complexion. You can choose from a range of cleansers to suit your skin type and preference, including rinse off formulas or ones that are removed with cotton wool pads. There are formulas to suit all skin types.  Soap should be avoided at all costs as it strips the skin of moisture and does not do an effective job of removing makeup.Always bear in mind that your skin should never feel uncomfortable or tight after cleansing, instead it should feel clean and fresh. If it does feel not right, it’s likely you are using the wrong cleanser and you need to swap your current one for one that is more hydrating. Likewise, if you find that your skin still feels greasy after you have finished cleansing, try something that is more deep cleansing to combat this.

Step 2 – Tone

Using a toner as part of your beauty regime has a range of benefits, including that it removes any makeup or debris missed by the cleansing stage. Toners can also provide further balance to oily skins or hydration and comfort if dry or sensitive. After toning, you should find that your skin feels fresh, clean and ready for the next step. And in the warmer months, toner is perfect for helping to keep the skin cool and refreshed. Our SkinBase toner can be spritzed onto the skin.

Step 3 – Moisturise

If you want radiant skin that is soft and supple, then it is very important that you moisturise daily. Also aim to choose one which has an inbuilt SPF to protect your skin against the sun’s harmful rays, and help to prevent premature ageing especially important after your SkinBase treatments! You can order your Essential skincare set in our shop. £50 including FREE delivery and specially formulated to be kind to skin after treatment.
