Rachael is one of our Transformation of the Year 2025 finalists, and an experienced therapist with over 30 years in the industry. She has travelled the world honing her skills and now runs a successful business specialising in bespoke skin treatments, including SkinBase Collagen Lift. Q: What signs of ageing do clients most often come to you with and how do you approach consultations with clients concerned about ageing skin?
“They’re often dealing with a range of issues, from pigmentation and fine lines to deep wrinkles and a loss of skin elasticity. I use a skin analysis machine during consultations, which gives us a clear view of what’s happening beneath the surface and captures detailed images. This technology allows us to create a targeted treatment plan. We revisit these images to visibly track their skin’s transformation.”
Q: How do you reassure clients who are nervous about trying non-invasive anti-ageing treatments for the first time?
Rachael works hard to build trust with her clients, and has a variety of methods that she uses during the consultation to help clients feel comfortable and confident going ahead with the treatment, including:
- “Explaining the treatment in detail during the consultation and showing them the Collagen Lift machine.”
- “A patch test and a complimentary 10 minute treatment around the eye area.”
- “Taking before and after photos.”
- “Encouraging clients to keep hydrated and explaining the benefits.”
“Plus my clients know that I research every product and every treatment that I offer so it’s not hard to convince them to have the treatment.”
Q: How do you set realistic but positive expectations for clients about the results they might achieve?
I always discuss that it is teamwork, 30% what I can do and advise and 70% of results are down to them.
Q: What strategies do you use to keep clients motivated through a course of treatments, especially when visible improvements take time?
“Just remind them that there’s no one quick fix treatment and my treatments are a safer alternative to invasive treatments. Because I have the skin analysis machine that’s very positive too because they can look forward to coming back and seeing that change in their skin.”

Q: SkinBase treatments work best when combined with a healthy lifestyle. Do you discuss nutrition, hydration, or other holistic factors with your clients to help them achieve that radiant glow? Are clients committed to making these changes?
“Once again I talk about the 360 approach: diet, lifestyle, using daily SPF. I also recommend high quality multivitamins and multi minerals. They have invested time and money in the course, so they listen to advice to get the best results and maintain them.”
Q: After a client completes a course of treatments for ageing skin, what are your recommendations to maintain results and continue improving their complexion?
“I reiterate everything we discussed in their initial consultation. For maintaining results, I always recommend skincare, increasing their water intake, and daily SPF in and outdoors. They also need to have a maintenance treatment once every 3 or 4 months.”
Q: What would you say to someone in their 40s, 50s, or beyond who is unsure whether professional treatments can still make a visible difference to their skin?
“I explain the difference between the chronological age of the skin and the biological age the skin. Working together we can definitely make a difference and help to slow down the ageing process. Age is only a number. Also, building up a rapport with the client and ensuring they trust my treatments helps too.”
Q: What are your top three tips for maintaining youthful, radiant skin at home alongside professional treatments?
- Protect: use a daily, high quality SPF.
- Hydrate: use a professional vitamin A and antioxidant moisturiser morning and evening.
- Daily Supplementation: feed the skin from within with high quality multi-nutrients.
Q: Can you share a moment when you saw a client’s confidence bloom as their skin started to look more radiant and youthful?
“The client whose photos I submitted for Transformation of the Year. She was absolutely blown away by the results, hence, she wanted to enter the competition. She never would have let me use the before and after pictures before, but she was so thrilled with her results after her course of Collagen Lift.”
Q: How do you encourage clients to feel proud and confident enough to share their journey and results in our SkinBase Transformation competition?
“This is a tricky one because a lot of my clients are professional individuals: solicitors, heads of education, etc., who don’t particularly want their place of work knowing where they go for treatments. It’s their time out. Some don’t even do social media due to security issues etc., However, some have agreed to show partial areas, e.g. the eye area as opposed to full face, which is great.”
Q: How does it feel to be a Transformation of the Year 2025 Finalist?
“Absolutely amazing to be a finalist in the Transformation of the Year 2025 competition. I just can’t put into words this feeling of elation… Knowing that I managed to transform somebody’s skin, it’s just it’s incredible. Thank you for producing such a top of the range machine that delivers what it promises to and more.”
