Beat the summer slump by mastering your summer salon marketing with some tips from SkinBase. If your regular clients are jetting off to the sun and business is slow, use the extra time you have to bring in new clients.
Celebrate Education Achievements
If your salon is in an area with a big student population, celebrations for educational achievements are big in summer. This is a great way to attract new clients. Target school leavers and university graduates. Have a ‘bring a friend’ promotion and allow students to celebrate together. They can prepare for the big event – and you can fill up your chairs!
Microdermabrasion is the perfect way to master your summer salon marketing and achieve an event glow. Your students can get rid of dull skin or treat skin concerns like acne. MD on the back, hands and feet will also help them feel great on the big day.
Don’t forget mature students (there is no age limit for university graduates) and parents attending these events. They will want to look and feel good too. Offer a collagen boost to keep them glowing.
Prevent Sun Damage
While we know that clients should be wearing SPF all year round to keep the skin protected, it is even more important in summer. Summer holidays are a great opportunity to retail SPF products to keep your clients’ skin healthy. Offer the SkinBase Daily Repair and Protect and the SkinBase Daily Protect SPF. Keep them at your reception desk. This will help you remember to make your clients aware of the sun damage treatments you offer and get started on your summer salon marketing. Microdermabrasion and IPL are brilliant for sun-damaged skin.
Turn the Salon into a Staycation
For clients not going far from home, offer them a little extra by turning the salon into a getaway. Busy parents and stressed students may be skipping holidays altogether. Create a summery window display and offer promotions on seasonal treatments. Consider throwing in a goodie bag or mocktail with each treatment.
Summer Salon Marketing Days
Special days that you can focus your marketing around to lure clients into your salon for a summer pampering. If you have a slower day during summer – turn it into an event. Consider Skincare Sundays, Microdermabrasion Mondays or Treatment Tuesdays. Offer a small discount or a goody bag to get your clients’ attention and fill your columns.
It doesn’t just have to be days of the week. Find a marketing calendar and see the special days you can use to interest your clients. If you’re looking for some inspiration, July 5th is Bikini Day and July 10th is Pina Colada day.
