Over 16 years ago, Sarah was introduced to the SkinBase Microdermabrasion machine, and she hasn’t looked back since!

Q: What do you think makes clients feel confident choosing you for their skin journey?

“Clients trust me with their skincare because I’ve been doing it for a long time and I’ve
got a wealth of knowledge. I get lots and lots of recommendations from other people that have been to me for facials and trust me.”

Q: How do you conduct thorough consultations with these clients?

“I talk clients through the treatment and explain to them that they will probably need to have multiple treatments to get great results. Obviously a one off treatment is good for a quick fix if you’re going out for a night, but if you want to maintain good skincare a course should be done. I usually offer course of 3 treatments, as I do find that some clients don’t need six sessions to start with, and prefer to be eased in. I also show before and after pictures to clients and highlight recommendations and reviews too.”

Q: What motivates you to keep delivering exceptional treatments every day?

“Well, it’s good service, being friendly to customers, recommendations, making sure they’re getting a good facial. I always go the extra mile, give them a little head massage. Sometimes I’ll put a little face mask on just to make them feel really pampered. I would say making the client feel special is really important, because if they feel that they’ve been loved and looked after they want to commit to and continue their skin journey.”

Q: What’s the most common skin concern you treat, and how has SkinBase helped you address it?

“I would say there’s probably two. I’ve got really bad acne sufferers, and I do get ageing skin as well. I would say both treatments, the Microdermabrasion and the Collagen Lift are equally as good as each other. One for the hormonal issues, and one for the tightening and toning and sculpting of the face. So, both treatments work really well for different ages. I have girls from sort of the age of 16, 17 that have had suffered really bad with acne and are having microdermabrasion. Their skin’s now looking fantastic. The ladies that have suffered as they’ve got a little bit older, the Collagen Lift really makes a massive difference to sculpt and brighten their skin.”

Q: How do you manage expectations while still inspiring confidence in results?

“I always be clear from the start about the results, and be realistic with expectations. I make clients aware that it isn’t going to just be one treatment that’s going to get the results. It is an ongoing process. MD, I always suggest to come back and have one a month after they’ve done a course. With the Collagen Lift, I suggest they come back every four weeks, or six weeks, after they’ve done the course. So, rebooking and just making sure the clients are aware of this to start with that it’s not just a quick fix.”

Q: Do you have a favourite SkinBase treatment? Why?

This is a hard one. I think all in all, I actually quite like mixing up the facials. So I like to start with Microdermabrasion, then I love to add the Collagen Lift. I like infusing the Hydro serum into the skin and I love the IPL hair removal as well because now I’m like a dolphin! So, if I’m honest with you, I love all of the treatments. But if I was to choose one, probably the Collagen Lift, because I like the heat on the face. It’s very soothing and very relaxing.

Q: What’s your number one skincare tip for maintaining a fresh, glowing complexion year-round?

My number one skincare tip is keep up with the facials and make sure you use your aftercare. Buy the products, and use good products on your skin, the SkinBase Essentials. I sell a lot of the SkinBase products here. I make sure my clients keep up with their facials to maintain good skin and drink plenty of water.

Q: Finally, what does reaching 1,000 SkinBase treatments on each of the machines mean to you?

“It’s fantastic! It’s fabulous that I’ve got so many loyal customers that want to come back to me and have their treatments with me and trust in what I do. So that’s a really good indicator to me that I’m doing a good job and people like me and they like the service and more than anything, they love the treatment! So, it’s fantastic achievement to keep working and being able to offer the SkinBase products and treatments that I do.”
