IPL Photorejuvenation is a relatively recent treatment option driven by the widespread use of SkinBase IPL systems. It is a non-invasive zero downtime treatment option for:
- Reducing facial wrinkles and fine lines
- Treating sun damage, including age spots and brown pigmentation, solar lentigines
- Providing a smoother appearance to the skin
Photorejuvenation stimulates the body to heal and create new collagen. Hence the appearance of what we call ‘Photodamage’ (ageing caused by UV such as pigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles) is improved. A course of SkinBase photorejuvenation facials will result in a fresher, healthier appearance of the skin. The treatment is perfect for fine lines and wrinkles and those seeking minimal ‘downtime’ from their skin treatments.
Photorejuvenation for pigmentation
Photorejuvenation is great for treating sun-damaged skin. Therefore, sun damage on face, hands, neck and chest are the most typical areas of treatment for photorejuvenation.
IPL Photorejuvenation:
The appearance of brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles and pigmentation spots can make us look older than we actually are. Photorejuvenation improves the appearance of sun damaged skin, age spots and skin texture.
How Does It Work?
During the treatment, light is applied in a series of pulses over the treatment area. Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the pigmentation and is converted into heat. The damage caused by the heat in the melanin (pigmentation) kick starts the body’s natural healing process. The brown patch will darken before it sloughs off, or the body absorbs it.
Treatment Course
A course of three to six treatments spaced two to three weeks apart is ideal. You will enjoy smoother skin and a more even skin tone. Treatments are especially effective for improving the skin’s appearance on the face, neck, chest, and hands. You can resume your normal life – immediately!
