Salon Social Media Plan 2024

1. Understand What You Do Best

Before you decide what you are going to do and plan for the future, you are going to go back in time and figure out what you already do well. What is your niche? Which platforms are you most active on? What content do your followers engage with the most? When planning your social media for the year, it is important to consider what your followers are engaging with, as this gives you an idea of what they want. It is their attention you are trying to grab after all – so give them what they are asking for.

2. Understand Your Salon Brand

As you create your salon social media plan, you need to ask yourself what your brand is and if it is being reflected in your social media activities. If your imagery is old or outdated, that is the message you are giving to potential clients. So – update those profile pictures, cover images, bios – anything that is no longer reflective of your business. If you do not post regularly, potential clients may be unsure if your business is still operating, and may find a different one. Don’t let opportunities pass you by! If you are finding you do not have enough time to post across each of the platforms you are using, then cut it down to the most important. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok even. Wherever your audience is – and is expecting you to be.

3. Set Social Media Goals for 2024

What are you trying to achieve? Start with your goals, and work backwards to figure out how you are going to get there. You may want to reach new clients, or build deeper relationships with those you already have. Your goals are going to be important as you create your salon social media plan, so you know what you are working for. Have a goal for the year, and smaller objectives that get you there. Make them Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed (SMART) for the best results.

4. Plan Your Social Media

Once you understand your brand, your target audience, and what you want to achieve, it is time to decide how you are going to get there. Regular, consistent posts are key to achieving success on social media, so don’t start off strong and lose it along the way. Divide tasks throughout your team if you can. Decide who is responsible for creating content, writing captions, monitoring messages, replying to comments etc. each month. Social media is a two way relationship with potential clients, and it can be very rewarding if you get it right.

Creating Content

Creating content can be difficult as social media moves so quickly. To make it easier for yourself, choose a monthly focus, and break it down into each week of the month. That way, you and your team all know what message you want to get across. You could highlight a different offering each month, and go into depth about the treatment. For example, March could be Microdermabrasion month. Content may consist of a SkinBase Microdermabrasion facial reel, a before and after image on the grid, a Q&A session on Instagram stories etc. If you are struggling for ideas – think seasonally. March is Mother’s Day, May-September is Wedding Season, the last couple of months can be festive for Christmas. Don’t forget, you have access to a wide range of marketing materials when you partner with SkinBase, so you can intersperse these resources with your own original content.

Testimonial: “JC was so low, suicidal at points. Sore, red, angry, his skin was awful, we had tried everything and doctors you name it. We reached out to Becky, who was wonderful. My son was quiet and withdrawn, lacked confidence and self esteem, and locked himself away from the world. Becky booked us in for a consultation to discuss different options of treatments and we decided the new hydro treatment would be the best option. We started the course and JC was nervous but Becky was great with him talking him through everything, step by step! As we went each time JC’s skin got better and better, but also the difference in him was huge, he was gaining confidence, shoulders back, head held high. We have watched his skin change from this red, aggressive, angry skin that was sore, acne was debilitating to him but now he is confident, holds his head up high and has even got his first job! We are so proud. When we met Becky I felt confident she would help us get his skin better and back on track but what has actually happened is skin looks amazing but to see our son gain confidence has been the biggest win! Teens often get pushed aside, put on string meds and told “it’s just your age” but this isn’t what they want to hear, but The SkinBase treatments Becky has done has changed his life! We cannot thank you enough Becky! JC is continuing with the treatments as it still gets the odd breakouts but the scarring is still improving week in week out. The hydro Facial is just amazing and we cannot recommend it enough and of course Becky and her passion for skin and helping people is wonderful!”
