Consider using an oil-based cleanser first and follow up with a foaming cleanser. Unless you have dry skin – then you should use the oil-based cleanser second. If you are acne-prone, avoid oil-based cleansers all together and find a light gel-based cleanser (or micellar water).
Without a double cleanse you may get a build-up of dirt and grime on the skin. This can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. The temperature of the water is also important, as is the time you take to cleanse. Use lukewarm water (never hot), and massage the cleanser in thoroughly – both times!
