Have you ever wondered what some of your beauty issues really mean? Then you are not alone. I’ve done some digging and what I have found is pretty interesting so I thought I would share with SkinBase followers here today. Here is the true meaning behind five common beauty issues you might have…

1. Dark circles under your eyes when you wake up?…

This could mean a number of things, including simply that you didn’t get enough sleep that night! Or it could also mean that you are very dehydrated or you have seasonal allergies. Try to drink more of the wonder stuff (water), avoid salty foods and see a doctor about seasonal allergy medications if your under eye bags persist.

A good thing to note is that it is important to try and listen to your body and tune in to what it is trying to tell you. For example, if your eyes are puffy and you feel dehydrated, drink some water!

2. Your nails are thick, brittle or yellow?…

If you use harsh chemicals such as soaps and nail polishes or strong cleaning products, this could be a sign that your nails need a rest! To fix this, wear rubber gloves while washing the dishes and always use nail polish remover without acetone. Thick, brittle or yellow nails can also suggest that you need more protein or iron in your diet so time to eat more lean meats, fish and iron rich spinach.

3. You have excessive hair growth?…

Well simply put, you might just be one of the lucky ladies out there who has fast growing hair! But, it could also mean that you have a medical condition called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). This condition can mean you have a major hormonal imbalance, so you might want to consult a doctor if you notice extra hair showing up all over your body. But please don’t panic! Remember everyone’s bodies are different.

4. You have severe acne?…

When I say “severe acne,” I’m not talking about the occasional breakout when it’s the time of the month or hormonal teenage pimples. Acne could mean that certain organs in your body need a little extra attention or that you have certain food allergies, you’re not drinking enough water, or you’re eating too much junk food that’s upsetting your digestive system. 5. Noticed small red bumps on the backs of your arms?…

This could be the stubborn rash called Keratosis pilaris, which is only treatable with lasers or prescription creams. It could also mean that you are not getting enough omega-3 oils in your diet, so load up on olive oil, salmon and avocados for a few weeks to see if it helps. If the bumps don’t go away, it might be time to make a visit to your doctor or dermatologist.
