The colour purple

Purple is the colour of the moment when it comes to eye make-up. From pretty lilac shown at Derek Lam to Vera Wang’s deep and smoky grape hue. Seventies violet was the top pick for Matthew Williamson, whilst icy lavender offset the sheer coral lips at Sally Lapointe. We all love the colour purple and the best bit is, it really helps to accentuate all eye colours making your peepers look amazing – win win!
The evolution of the cat eye
Well if there is one thing that never goes out of style, it has to be the classic black eyeliner, but it’s time to take it one step further for summer 2015. Instead, try extending from the middle of the eyes and past the outer corners, such as at Prada, Celine and Narciso Rodriguez or like Just Cavalli with a bold line underneath. And for an updated version of the cat-eye – try to keep the line strong and straight for a truly graphic effect.
Be bold in red
Well autumn was almost completely lipstick-free so lipstick fans are so pleased that lips are back and the bolder the better. Think bright red and berry hues. At Zac Posen it was bold scarlet, Missoni it was orange-tinged and at Dolce & Gabbana the lips came in the richest of smudgy berry hues. It’s good to have you back old friend.
Swing low, sweet ponytail
However you wear your ponytail this summer, wear it low at the nape of your neck. Many of the designers were using this trend, including crimped at Stella McCartney, wet-look at Prada and sporty at Alexander Wang.
The off centre parting
For a more natural feel and in keeping with the season’s trend for “real” beauty, it’s best to wear partings ever so slightly askew at the likes of Jonathan Saunders, Christian Dior, Chloé and Roberto Cavalli.
