It’s likely that many of us either have stretch marks or will get them at some point in our lives; after all they affect thousands of people, regardless of age or situation.

If you’ve lost weight, gained weight, had a child or are simply growing – all can result in the fine silvery, long, fragmented scars that are sunken into the skin.

Stretch marks can often knock self-esteem and those who have them are left feeling like they want to cover up.

Although mainly found in the abdominal wall, stretch marks can also appear on the thighs, buttocks, upper arms and breasts and can cover large areas of the body. When a certain hormone becomes overactive and stops the skin from producing collagen and elastin fibers responsible for keeping growing skin taut – stretch marks are likely to form as a result.

Using microdermabrasion, the SkinBase Facial™ helps to remove stretch marks by targeting the problem area and using fine crystals to stimulate elastin and collagen.

Why The SkinBase Facial™ as a Treatment to Remove Stretch Marks?

  • Improves elasticity of the skin and visibly reduces the appearance of stretch marks
  • Easy, painless treatment
  • None invasive

We’ve also done our research to bring to you three treatments you can try at home to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks:

1) Sugar

Believe it or not, white sugar is one of the best natural treatments to get rid of stretch marks and can be used to exfoliate the skin.

All you need to do is mix a tablespoon of sugar with a few drops of lemon juice and some almond oil. Once it has been mixed well, apply it onto the stretch. Rub the mixture gently on the skin for at least ten minutes before taking a shower, every day if you can and after a month or so, you will notice your stretch marks will become lighter.

2) Potato Juice

Potato juice is packed full of the vitamins and minerals that foster growth and restoration of skin cells.

Take a medium-sized potato and cut it into thick slices. Rub one of the potato pieces gently on your stretch marks for a few minutes; making sure the affected area is covered by the liquid from the potato. After the potato juice has dried, use luke warm water to wash it off.

3) Water

It’s no big secret about how wonderful water is, yet so many of us still are not drinking enough! If you are drinking enough water (think about 8-10 glasses per day) your skin will be well-hydrated, resulting in regular detoxification of skin pores and restoring of elasticity, which will help a lot in getting rid of stretch marks. It is advisable to avoid coffee, tea or fizzy drinks as they can cause dehydration.
