SkinBase IPL Promotional Day – Today!

We are looking forward to our IPL promotional day today. October is a great time to start a course of IPL. Treatments are performed every 4-6 weeks, so starting a course of treatments now will mean silky smooth legs by summer. It’s not just hair that you can get rid of with IPL. The SkinBase IPL system is an advanced IPL system offering treatments for skin concerns such as acne, pigmentation and broken capillaries.

Vascular Lesions

Intense Pulsed Light can provide a long term solution to skin problems such as Rosacea, thread veins and red spots. With minimal downtime, and just a few quick and easy treatments to see results. During the treatment light is applied in a series of pulses over the treatment area. Following treatment, the vessels clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion. IPL can treat most red skin lesions including facial thread veins, rosacea and spider naevi.

IPL is a great way of removing unwanted pigmentation; it breaks down the excess pigment in the skin. It’s non-invasive and non-surgical treatment. There’s no downtime either, which means you can go straight back to your day without needing to recover.

IPL is a reliable option for people with acne and works in three different ways. IPL destroys spot-causing bacteria, reduces sebum production and it’s also very effective at reducing the inflammation.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends which IPL treatment you have. If you are having IPL for acne, you may only need 1-3 treatments. Whereas if you’re having IPL to get rid of unwanted hair you’ll generally need between 6-10. Your therapist will work out a treatment plan with you before you begin.

Tips to avoid ageing skin, direct from our FREE ebook

As we get older our skin’s ability to turn over new healthy skin cells slows down. Sun damage, and even everyday facial movements like smiling or frowning cause faint lines to surface and deepen into wrinkles over time.

As you age, the connective tissue and collagen in your face isn’t as strong or supportive (so we lose the ‘plumpness’ and elasticity we once had). Skin begins to age after the age of 25, but of course not dramatically so at this point. However during our 30s, certainly, changes can be seen. Here are some of our top tips, direct from our SkinBase Ageing Skin Guide, which aim to help you avoid ageing skin…
