We’ve got a new girl crush and she goes by the name of Cara Delevingne. And if you haven’t heard of her by now, where on earth have you been hiding?

Cara has just picked up the Model award at the 2012 British Fashion awards for her contribution to the international fashion scene over the past year.

Presented by Ellen von Unwerth, Cara looked amazing as she accepted her award in metallic Burberry.

Cara has been a Burberry model since 2012, is the current face of Chanel and walked in incredible 31 shows in September for fashion week.

This year Cara has gone from strength to strength and can now be described as the British ‘it’ model. She also landed the coveted role of being an Angel in the Victoria’s Secret show.

One of the reasons we have such a soft spot for Cara is she doesn’t seem to conform to the super model stereotype. In a recent interview backstage at Victoria’s Secret show, she cited pizza and Maccie D’s as her lunch and dinner of choice the day before the show – despite having to wear a cut-out latex outfit on the catwalk.

Cara said: “I mean, I’ve been working every day in different countries, so I haven’t really had time,” she revealed. “I had McDonald’s for lunch [the day before the show] and pizza for dinner. I need to eat a lot otherwise I feel faint – I get in the worst moods if I don’t eat.”

And the model – known for her bushy brows and who cites MAC Brow Set as a beauty essential – was quick to admit that she has a similarly relaxed approach to her beauty regime.

“There’s a really easy way of just kind of wearing make-up but looking like there’s nothing on your face… I’m still not very good at it, and I’m learning slowly,” she told Beauty High. “It’s always different. It depends on what kind of mood I’m in – if I want my hair up or if I want it big. It’s all kind of whatever you feel. It changes, it depends. It depends on how I wake up that morning and feel.”

How much you betting Cara would be a right laugh down the pub?
