What is it? How does it work?

During treatment, the tiny crystals gently exfoliate the skin. The SkinBase microdermabrasion machine works using vacuum pressure. The machine draws crystal, under suction, through the small hole at the end of the handpiece and over the skin. At the same time sucking away the dead skin and used crystals. The used crystals and the outermost layer of skin are then collected in a reservoir (disposable jar) and discarded safely and hygienically.

Course of Facials

We most definitely recommend that you plump for a course of facials. If your skin is in pretty good condition already a mini-course of 3 might be enough for you to get rid of all your blackheads and improve the texture and tone of your skin. If your skin needs a bit of work and you have skin concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, or mild outbreaks of spots then a course of 6 might be better.

How often can I have microdermabrasion?

You can have a microdermabrasion treatment every 7-10 days. In fact, we recommend that you stick within this timeframe to achieve the best results. This will allow your therapist to work deeper on the skin with each treatment, but safely and effectively without injury to the skin.

Where Can I get the treatment?

We have a network of over 2500 offering this treatment so you just need to find them! Search for your nearest SkinBase salon using our Find a therapist app.
