Without daily care and attention, skin can become dull and tired faster than you can say Brangelina (or ‘Brangelina no more’ as the case may now be!). Excuses for gloomy and washed out skin range from a hectic lifestyle to a bad diet. Here at SkinBase, we have done the hard bit for you and scoured the web to give you the 4 top DIY skin rescue remedies to give your skin the boost it deserves.

Tamarind pulp

Tamarind what? This little known orange vegetable does more than add the quirky element to your curry. Packed with antioxidants, fibre and vitamins B and C,  tamarind works to rid the skin of nasty deep-seated impurities. Rubbing the pulp of a tamarind onto your skin will put you on a fast track to lighter, brighter and softer skin.

Honey and sugar scrub

One of the key steps to maintaining radiant skin is to banish dead skin cells –  we have just the job; a honey and sugar scrub. This natural exfoliator rids the skin of any dead cells, whilst not breaking the bank. We are onto a winner. Simply mix honey and sugar equally into a bowl and rub gently onto your face and neck. Wash off with warm water, dab dry and welcome your glowing invigorated skin. It’s sticky, but it smells delicious.

Lemon mask

Tanning through prolonged sun exposure contributes to dull and sun-spotted skin. Wave goodbye to your pigmentation with a lemon mask, breathing some much needed life back into your skin. By leaving the zest of a lemon on your skin for 15 minutes, the bleaching component will leave your skin looking fresh. Top tip; avoid contact with your eyes. We really don’t need to tell you why.

Peach and tomato pack

To get that all year round healthy glow, try a mashed peach and tomato face pack. Leave the mixture on your face for no longer than 20 minutes and wash off with warm water. Pat the skin dry to lock in all the moisture. This will leave the skin looking plump and tighter.

If the home remedies are a little too much for you, then why not book in an appointment with your local SkinBase therapist to give you advice on your skin and our fantastic microdermabrasion treatments.

Good luck,
