Love Your Skin – Ditch Baby Wipes for Good

Convenience and affordability are just two attractive aspects when it comes to buying skincare. Baby wipes are the epitome of convenience but just how effective are they for cleaning? Here, we take a look at why it’s time to ditch baby wipes for good, as well as some efficient alternatives for your skincare cabinet. Why are baby wipes so bad for your skin? While baby wipes can be used on any area of the body, they’re not highly effective when it comes to cleansing the face. Instead of removing impurities from the skin, wipes tend to smear dirt, bacteria, and impurities over your face. Furthermore, baby wipes tend to contain alcohol which dries skin out, leaving it feeling dry and sensitive. What’s a good alternative? A great alternative to baby wipes is to use a hot cloth cleanser. This is a cream formulation that is applied to the face and removed with a warm damp cloth. Hot cloth cleansing helps to remove makeup, dirt, and grime from your face. Alternatively, you could use a cleansing lotion to eliminate grime and bacteria from your complexion.  You can then follow with a toner and moisturiser.   Find Your Local SkinBase™ Therapist SkinBase™ is the leading microdermabrasion treatment. Why are baby wipes so bad for your skin?

Pre-cleansing

If you wear a lot of makeup during the day, double cleansing your face is a highly effective method for cleaning your skin. You can use an oil or oil based cleanser first and then follow with a cream based cleanser. This method will ensure all your makeup is thoroughly removed.

What should I use when travelling?

Cleansing wipes are OK to use in moderation. Opt for micellar facial cleansing wipes and keep their use for travelling or during festivals.
