Alone for a while? Put on your favourite feel-good songs and dance around for 30 minutes! No one’s watching, you can even close the curtains. Just let go and lose yourself to the joy of the music. You could even sing along if you want to!
Go for a walk
SkinBase is full of dog lovers so we don’t get much of a choice, but there’s definitely something therapeutic about getting out in the fresh air, even if it’s only for half an hour or so. Lighter summer evenings are the perfect opportunity to spend a little bit of time outdoors after work, or you could pop out and stretch your legs during your lunch break.
Be in the moment
When all the pressures and strains of daily life combine with worries about the future, it can be easy to end up feeling overwhelmed, and to forget to enjoy yourself. Make an effort to stay in the moment, focus on whatever it is that you’re doing. Stop thinking about what happened yesterday; stop thinking about what will happen tomorrow, and just focus on what’s happening right now.
There are so many different ways to treat yourself. A bubble bath, a manicure, a deep conditioning hair mask, an indulgence like a box of chocolates, or an evening spent reading a good book. Sometimes, all we need is to spend a bit of time on ourselves to feel better.
Family and Friends
Make sure to you have time in your week to see your family and friends, they’re the best mood-boosters around (only the ones who make you smile though obviously!) and can help prevent feelings of isolation, loneliness and anxiety.
