26th April – On your feet Britain

In the beauty industry we’re no strangers to being on our feet all day, but we maybe don’t get to move around quite as much as we’d like. There are so many benefits to being more active, but you don’t have to completely overhaul your lifestyle or daily routine to manage it. Here are a few ways you can incorporate extra activity into your daily life and embrace On your feet Britain day. #SitLess #MoveMore Use the stairs more When you work (or live) in a building with a lift, it’s so, so easy to fall into using it every day. Challenge yourself to take the stairs instead for a week – we guarantee that at the end of the week, you’ll be skipping up those steps like they’re nothing! Take a break and walk around If you work in an office, there may be times where you barely move a muscle for hours at a time. Good for productivity perhaps, but our bodies are absolutely not designed to stay still for this amount of time. Next time you feel the need to give your eyes a break from your emails, instead of sitting back and chatting, or looking at your phone, get up and walk around the office, paying attention to your posture as you do.  Are you a beauty professional, and would like to offer SkinBase™ treatments? Find out more. Get off the bus early Walking to and from work might be impossible for lots of us, but you can…

Use the stairs more

When you work (or live) in a building with a lift, it’s so, so easy to fall into using it every day. Challenge yourself to take the stairs instead for a week – we guarantee that at the end of the week, you’ll be skipping up those steps like they’re nothing!

Take a break and walk around

If you work in an office, there may be times where you barely move a muscle for hours at a time. Good for productivity perhaps, but our bodies are absolutely not designed to stay still for this amount of time. Next time you feel the need to give your eyes a break from your emails, instead of sitting back and chatting, or looking at your phone, get up and walk around the office, paying attention to your posture as you do.

Get off the bus early

Walking to and from work might be impossible for lots of us, but you can certainly walk for at least part of the journey by getting off the bus or train a stop earlier, or walking to the next stop instead of the one you’d usually wait at.

Take a walk at lunch

Stretch your legs by taking a little walk on your lunch break. You can clear your mind, reduce stress, and you get to explore the area around where your work. Not only are you getting some exercise, but you might also discover nice places you didn’t know where there – we’ve discovered antique shops, little parks, and amazing cafes on our lunchtime excursions!
